Local Wants Dispensaries, Sand City Mayor Disagrees |
Sand city, Calif.- A local Monterey Resident, who is a medical marijuana user himself, said Monterey County needs a medical marijuana dispensary. He thinks Sand City is a perfect central location. But the Mayor does not agree.
Daniel Maniscalgo wants to open the dispensary in Sand City at a property in Orange Avenue, next to local businesses." There is a medical need, patients need it, we need to bring it closer to patients," said Maniscalgo.
The Mayor has a different point of view on medical marijuana. " I believe could be dangerous to the community, so for whatever reason they use it , its an endangerment," said Mayor Daniel Pendergrass.
